      Folks

I have been swimming with my S7 for many months now, mostly pool and some open water.

I am slightly puzzled by the HR as it seems stupidity low. I have another watch alongside to compare with whereby, the S7 says I am at 110bpm after a hard 100Mtr clocked at 1.34 minutes and the other watch it showing 156HR which is more realistic since I am out of breath once I completed the 100m

      Any thoughts?

the only thought I have is: watch movement while swimming. for OHR, water deflects the light very good and I can imagine that different watches read HR in the water differently. it must be sensitive and dependent on the watch size, “hydrodynamic” design of the case and strap material (stiffness) and tightness of the strap.

a watch is a measurement device and it is the same with every measurement, like in the machine industrie: you can measure 10 times in slightly different conditions and you get 10 different results

@freeheeler Very true, I think all devices are different and I am assuming if a watch can be pretty accurate in water means that it should effectively be pretty accurate as well outdoor. The watch I used to compare va the S7 was the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro.

I have put this watch vs Apple S6 and it had a error margin of 2.7% when comparing average and max HR in walk and a run.
