@Greennorth I would also assume that the S5Peak is the „new“ S3. It pretty much looks like it and you can get it here in Germany for 239.- €, what makes me doubting that there will be a new S3 Peak for 159.- or so.

@ChrisA dunno, I assume making an even lighter thinner S3P without GPS or with GPS but only with 10h battery life, plus some health tracking might attract health tracker audience, if priced accordingly: 120 Euros for example.

@DMytro yes, interesting thought! But I fear that it would be not a very competitive product. You can get Fitness trackers from Huawei, Amazefit etc. for far less money with far more features (no matter if they’re useful or not). And in my experience the people, buying those trackers mostly look for the most features for less money…

Thanks all for your responses - these points make sense. Agree the S3 (at full price) isn’t much less than the S5P, and the cheaper fitness tracker market is likely saturated and hard to compete.

I mainly ask because I like using my S3 as a lightweight, daily use watch, so was thinking of replacing it with something similar, but perhaps I should just get an S5 or S9 peak, which weigh almost the same.

@Greennorth If you put a lightweight nylonstrap on a S5 Peak you will get a >30g Watch, which is hardly noticeable.

@ChrisA I really like s5p! I only wish it had smaller bezel (and maybe a barometer).
                Maybe next iteration though.

@freeheeler well, s9p also has kinda thick bezel. But in general I don’t mind less durable, plastic watch with a subpar OHR and not the greatest battery life.
I think if suunto bumps up the specs of the next s5p a bit and hopefully improves the screen, it may be my next watch.
Barometer would be nice, but it’s not a must. I’d rather save a couple hundred euros XD

S5P is the latest release, it might take a while for the next iteration 🙊
I find it inspiring, when people know what they need and want and if it isn’t always the flagship… 👍

@freeheeler that’s quite alright, I can wait 2-3 years, just home my S9 can survive that long.
Well, it kinda happened to me with phones already, watches my well be next.
