Ambit 3 Peak HR Zone in Suuntolink?
-
@fluca
sometimes it’s good to have a backupI don’t think so, as it is discussed here:
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/7798/custom-hr-zones -
@freeheeler Thanks . That means I will train the old stile in case. But hope my training load will be consistent with my S9B in SA.
-
@fluca sometimes when need specific zone training, I use HR limit funtion by setting the lower and upper limit to the zone I want to train in, the watch will alert if you are out of the limits.
-
@andrasveres Thanks, find it and using it! Yesterday did a little functional test.

-
@andrasveres good idea, thanks!
-
Can we just be enabled to set hr zones for ambit3? The whole thing to create and push apps to the watch via the web service sounds like a whole lot more work than enabling setting custom hr zones, if not via SuuntoLink maybe through that web service somehow? Am I too way off?
-
@herlas that would help HR data presentation in Suunto app, but Ambits never had in-watch HR zones and I think they never will.
If that’s what you thought of. -
@andrasveres yes, justification is based on two things:
–HR data presentation in SA
–Accurate TSS calculation from HR-based workoutsTraining load metrics and graphics are getting better and better with each update, but they only as good when they’re accurate right?
Looking at it from the perspective that if t’s not a crazy thing to implement and it’s doable, we should push for it

You’re spot on with that, but I look at their trend and not their actual value, just because of this.
-
@andrasveres well trend is only trustworthy if the values behind it are
Let’s see if we can get feedback on if this is doable -

I meant even if my TSS values are not accurate because of no correct HR zone (and threshold level) are set, but trend should be okay as I can’t mess with HR zones so threshold level for TSS stays the same. Right?
-
Zones in SA for correct hrTSS computation and backup, I hope that comes, would be appreciated. Zones on the Ambit watches? Unless it is already there, I don’t see a firmware update for those watches.
-
@isazi Heart rate zones configuration for Ambit 3 was possible in movescount, we lost this functionally. Not talking about a watch firmware, rather a way to set them in Ambit 3 so SA can display the HR chart accordingly and the TSS computation
Options are using SuuntoLink or if not much of a deal, something similar to what was made to compile/push apps to Ambits via a webservice call or something.
this is what we used to have in MC and no way to them them in SuuntoLink
-
@herlas yep it would be cool!
-
@isazi custom HR zones in Suunto app wouldn’t be only beneficial for legacy watches, but for those cases when Suunto app is used along with a HR strap to record activities.
-
@herlas if you ask me, it should be built-in Suunto app feature, not just for legacy watches, used as default zones when no in-watch zones are available, like in case of legacy watches or Suunto app activity record function.
-
Ambit(SuuntoLink) cannot set FTP either! And calculate TSS (P) according to FTP!
Recently, I synchronized the data to Intervals.icu ,abandoned the PMC chart of SuunzoZH
-
I agree, there could be an angle that gets all HR graphs right when no HR zones are set in SA, as this thread is only about Ambit3 HR zones, let’s see if we get some feedback about how far are we from getting this in the first place
-
@andrasveres how do you set up those limiters?
