recommendation: S9P vs. S9B

For me both watches are the most accurate on the market regarding distance, altitude, ascent. I gave away my S9B when I received my S9P. Unfortunately I could never test both watches at the same time. Would be interesting with new S9B altitude algo.

Is S9P slightly to prefer regarding newer GPS Chipset, newer antenna design, altimeter position? Only criteria is accuracy in distance, altitude and ascent.

I’m aware that there are only nuances, but would be interesting, if you say completely identical and doesn’t matter or has S9P an edge when buying a new watch (focus as above)? I do not want to start a deep technical discussion and other things like OTA Update, screen size, HR etc. are not primary focus.

I don’t own an S9P. What I can say is that I like the design and size of S9B Titanium much more than S9P Titanium…
BUT (!) I always complained about the baro hole position on S9B and the position on S9P is way better when it comes to accuracy or let’s say unwanted hole covering and hence measuring deviation.

This is something I have observed, while others don’t seem to have this issue at all. I’ve also heard about baro holes position on S9P to be prone to wind gusts.
Every design has its compromises as I see it… and it seems that an issue for one is totally not applicable for somebody else.

My 2 pennies: if your friend likes smaller watches the S9P is the choice and it even is technically ahead (OTA updates and oxygen etc…) if he/she likes bigger screens and would like to benefit from that, go for S9B, it’s still supported

I have trail running and backcountry skiing wearing both at the same time……quite a few.

Size matters! If the Peak is too small don’t purchase. I prefer the baro for skiing and much ,much prefer the Peak for running. I cannot wear the baro sleeping. Too big.
The Peak has a slightly better altitude algorithm and with small rolling hills will do better. For me, I have big hills so it doesn’t matter.
The adaptive backlight on the Peak is great, I like it for running and all day use.

For me the Peak hands down but I like the smaller watch and never have more than 4 data fields on one screen.
