Suunto app is now available for Apple silicon M1 Macs from App Store
-
@flypg
Anything in the mac logs ? -
@flypg Big Sur is old, do you have a Mac with Apple Silicon? It only works with those Macs. I just received one and I don’t think they started with less than Catalina. The app will not run on Intel macs.
-
Thanks @Brad_Olwin, yes, of course, MBP with M1.
Aren’t you confusing yourself with another version?
Big Sur is the it’s the one before latest version. Also is displayed as compatible in the App Store. Thanks @sartoric, something specific to search for?
Always, as part of crash report say:dyld3 mode Crashing on exception: -[_UIAppearance setSectionHeaderTopPadding:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance -x6...
And the numbers on “…” change on each report.

@flypg
It looks like some ui component expected but missing, or something like thatpinging @pavel-samokha , maybe he knows or he can check it
-
@flypg Not clear to me, if you have MBP with M1 you for sure should be able to install MacOS 12
-
For unknown reason can’t edit my post,
@flypg Please try to upgrade first https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212735
Also it may be helpful to know what exact model you have (written on the back on your Mac, like “Model Number: A2338”)
-
Thanks to all!
@pavel-samokha yes, you are right, but I need to stay in Big Sur for the moment until I can move all Macs to Monterey or upgrade the older ones hardware
Of course, exactly this model: A2338. Thanks! It’s also not a problem you should spend your time on, I just tried to test it because I love test new things and it was compatible with macOS 11+ but it won’t be my everyday use. Thank you very much to all!

because it’s pinned, I guess
-
@flypg I reported the issue, but guess we just need to raise minimal required version to 12. Thanks for the report.
-
Will it be available for Intel based MBPs? Not sure why it’s exclusively only on the newer M1 processor though
-
@herlas because they are ARM processors and most probably the code that runs on the iPad runs on the new M1 Macs. It’s not coming to Intel CPUs, pretty sure.

I get it now, thx guys

Hi, this is a great update. Just wondering will it support sync? At least I could not see any way how I could have synced my watch with App. I do use some IOS apps on my M1 and they can sync with BT devices so I quess it could work. If sync directly from watch would be possible it would be great.
I do think it would be much easier to get sync working from M1 than creating Qt base Suunto App that could be used natively on Sailfish OS. I can say that on SFOS forum there has been many, at least three, mentions about Suunto and not beeing able to sync with Sailfish OS. Android support layer by Myriad Group does not support file transfer protocols on SFOS so Android app does not work. So I could say there must be more than four users that would greatly benefit having Qt app of Suunto App!
Last bit was irony. I know there is know point for Suunto to greate Qt app and I’m completely aware of “issues” that comes when not using Android or iPhone as primary mobile phone.

Works in my iMac M1. My two cents:
(i) The white space in the interface is too big (as in iPad, but obviously multiplied by the bigger screen of the computer)
(ii) There is (or I have found) no way to zoom in or out in the map using the mouse.
On the other hand, please, @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos insist with the iOS team on the fact that we cannot select a particular activity using the dot in the map as in Android. That would be a real improvement for iOS users.
J
Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but Zoom works if you hold the “alt” key and make zooming gestures (2 finders) on your mouse pad.
-
…“2 fingers”, that is
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos funny that the same guys who was defending now 3 years the ramp down of Movescount as a “big screen solution” as most damaging Suunto decision ever made in company history, now celebrating that the ‘small screen’ app is now ported to big screen Mac’s, you can’t make this s**** up
-
@Tetrix22222 I was defending the move to mobile, I would rather have the app as it is now than being tied to desktop. I don’t find the Mac app nearly as useful as the iPad. I started asking for an iPad solution long ago. As far as I am concerned there is no better platform to draw routes, etc than the iPad and very happy to have that now.

@Tetrix22222 is movescount or something available on osX ?
