Suunto 5 Battery
-
@lalo I’d bet on the middle of December. But suunto doesn’t release an update schedule.
-
@lalo i have this issue too. I think it is related to removed toggle mode for backlight and forced backlight on every button press and every notification, which is totalyunnecesery durinv day, but stillit is forced upon us. Hope this will be fixed soon and hope toggle will be resurected soon too.

@tomas5 Hello Tomas,
The thing that I bought Suunto 5 because of the battery life. I don’t like recharging my watch battery every day and pay attention to the battery everytime I go out. The promised “7 days in clock mode with mobile notifications and 20 hours in gps mode with maximum precision.” And this is not happening since the last updateIf they don’t solve it with the next update this is my first and last Suunto and Hello Garmin.
-
@lalo well this is my second suunto, and i must say i am not happy as much as i was with older model. There is lot of new fancy features, but core functions are sometimes worse. But regarding battery life i plan to wait for next release, if not fixed there, i will rollback to old firmware with toogle mode and i will live happy until S5 will work. Just without new features:(
-
@tomas5 can you tell me please how can I rollback to an old firmware if they don’t solve the problem?
-
@lalo you can find here on forum links to download older firmware. Than just connect watch to PC and drag and drop zip file to suunto link. It will install that firmware. But it will hard reset your watch so you will need to setup everything from begining, every sports mode etc.

Has the firmware update been rolled out? MY S5 battery life has gotten worse in the last few weeks. Even with the battery saver on, it doesnt last one day
-
@cornell-tsiang only in the last weeks? There may be an issue with the battery in this case. Anyway the update for S5 should be available on Suuntolink.

@isazi Thanks ! By weird coincidence, I just got an update to the firmware. Maybe it took time to rollout to my part of the world ANyway, I’ll see how it goes
