[Issue] FW rolled back to 2.18.18 and won't find the new FW anymore
-
Hey folks,
My watch was successfully updated to 2.19.42 yesterday. Then I put it on my charger and went for a quick shower. When I got back, it shows “The watch has successfully updated” (again) and the version rolls back to 2.18.18.
I tried to check for update again but won’t find 2.19.42 anymore.
-
Reset the watch - tried
-
Reinstall the Suunto app - tried
-
Forget the device and reconnect - tried
I’ve seen some of the users here experienced the same issue in the update release post. So I decided to create this one to report the issue.
Cheers,
Hank -

@hankwang Same issue for me.

Thanks. We are reporting this. Stay tuned

@bulkan Thanks!

@bulkan just so that all relevant information is in this thread
@surfboomerang said in SOFTWARE UPDATE 2.19.42 January 27, 2022:
@richard-thygesen Can’t confirm it. My S9P survived the night.
I don’t have sleep tracking enabled however -
First can you send logs from Suunto app. We will need your user name in Suunto app so DM if you want with the name.
-
This is under investigation and seems to only affect S9P users with IOS, PLEASE SEND LOGS AND POST YOUR SA EMAIL HERE.
Thanks

@hankwang I got the same problem during night. Woke up 3.38 am. to confirmation of new update. Watch said 1.38 am. so it was UTC time. Sleep tracking with HR and blood oxygen on.
I could re-connect watch by forgetting my bluetooth from both devices and pair them again. Then sync worked again but with last FW.
This was with IOS.

I wanted to delete my post, but I have not enough privileges for this action? lol

For privacy reasons… isn’t it better to send you a PM instead of posting email addresses?

No more logs needed, thanks everyone!
-
Same issue with me. I reported the bug via chat and the tech department is apparently working on it.
-
So now the new FW update reappeared in SA (iOS). The update seems to be already downloaded to the device, and I should start the update on my watch. Unfortunately this is not possible. “Watch is up to date” is displayed on the watch. I restarted my phone (iPhone Mini 12) and the watch, but that didn’t help.
-
@wmichi Exact same behavior for me.
-
@wmichi @Patrick-Löffler I can help you both in PM.
-
@wmichi I have same problem. I could also need some help.
-
@isazi hey I have the same situation. Fw notification in SA but watch does not see it.

BTW if the app says that the update is loaded, could also be that it will be installed automatically tonight around 4.
