Sunrise & Sunset on stock face
-
@Egika I’ve checked: the stock face that I used now still shows Sunset time. The face that you suggested me, shows correctly Sunrise time.

@Egika the others are all okay, only the one Alexander mentioned does not bring sunrise
-
@aliasox so wich one is problematic here? This one?

@Egika
this oneAlessandro

@felix95 thank you!
In this case it seems according to specs.
Read here about the watch faces:
https://www.suunto.com/Support/faq-articles/features/what-information-can-i-see-on-the-suunto-watch-faces/For most other watch faces the text mentions “sunrise/sunset”
For the one you’ve shown the text has just “sunset” and “the rest of the watch faces display less information”. -

, not a problem of course
-
@Egika So, according to the documentation, it’s not considered a bug… objectively, it’s a kind of inconsistency
-
@felix95 this is how I read it - yes.
Those watch faces have less information… -
@Egika IMHO, it’s not about to have an additional information, but make this one dinamic, according to the actual time of the day… As an adventure watch, It should provide both information, when the sun will rise again after the sunset, and when the sun will go down after the rise…
Just my 2 cents.
Obviously, I cheer Suunto!Alessandro

@felix95 yes, I understand. Initially this topic was about the question if the current behavior was a bug.
We found out that this seems to be the way it was designed.Your adventure watch does have the dynamic and both information - just select another watch face and you get it.

Sorry but It’s not a good way to treat customers, if you sell a device that does something, you cannot force the user to use in a different way (only for hiding the lack of ability on software development or a very stupid “design decision”). The information of sunrise/sunset are default ones, so should be available everywhere…

@felix95 I’m actually surprised that it is clearly and correctly documented
And I do agree that it looks like an odd design choice.

@felix95 How is it in other watch faces like this one?
I kept an eye on this watch face on my Spartan Ultra and it showed the sunset above the time all night, it never switched to sunrise.

correct, you have to manually select sunrise/set

You mean „tap to cycle through additional info displayed below the time“? Yes, I know. Just wanted to check if I had missed that it automatically switches above the time on the SSU.

Guys, can you confirm me which behaviour has this one? Hope not the same of the other face…
Alessandro -
@felix95 It dynamically changes what is shown depending on current state of the sun, i.e., it’s working just like you hope ️
As the sun has just set where I am, it is now showing the time of the next sunrise.
-
@Mads-Hintz-Madsen In addition, it is the only watchface that allows both complications to be deactivated. Love it.
-
@Egika I do not have a S9PP - but in my vertical with this watch face it updates/switches to the sunset/sunrise time correctly.
When I have switched to the others - they all update correctly also from what I can tell… daytime it shows sunset and after sunset it shows sunrise.

@larrybbaker Listen to this Suunto team and employees! Is it difficult to replicate this behavior in Suunto 9 Peak Pro?
