S9P not showing water temperature during swimming
-
so, S9P is not showing water temperature in either OW or pool swims, I´ve used S+ weather but temperature doesn’t stick to the after the fact summary in SA, does anybody know when this will be fixed?
-
@herlas next watch update, this month probably.
-
@dmytro
or “maybe”, summer and vacation time -
@dmytro that’s good to know, also, S9P OW GPS issue had been fixed already? I’ve been doing OW freestyle with S9P and A3P to compare, and I’m getting very decent/good distances out of the S9P, could argue it’s giving better distance than ambit 3
-
@herlas I think not but I may be wrong. Neither do I have s9p, nor do I swim, so can’t say much. But maybe others could chime in.
-
-
@herlas After starting your swimming exercise with S+ W you have to switch through all the displays for one time, then the temperature will be recorded correctly. Because of the display lags it will take about 10 seconds minimum.
-
@herlas I do a lot of OW swimming and I used A3p for 7 years. Now I have S9p for 1 year and the comparable tracks are a bit better than with A3p.
-
@freeheeler well, that’s not true you know me , it’s not that I’m combining them, I’m comparing GPS tracks and distances for OWS , last Dec S9P was giving me way shorter distances than A3P, I think a couple of SW updates have happened since and I started OWS again, and S9P looks like now is giving better GPS tracks/better distances than A3P.
Pool swimming is a no-go for my S9P, I take my A3P all the time due small and relevant features like a must have drill mode or swim style teaching mode
Back to topic, I guess this is the issue I was referring to, wondered if this was fixed?

@wotus I want to have the temperature in SA in my workout summary , are you saying that I need to swipe to the S+ weather app so that the temperature gets recorded to SA when syncing? Today I did select S+ weather but didn’t swipe to it, wondering if that’s the reason why I don’t have any temperature in SA for today’s swim ? Will try in my next swim and report.

@herlas
…else… I don’t know anybody else… -

I reported this to Suunto, but the level of support is very low.

Confirming, after swiping thru the weather Suunto + screen, I’m seeing the temperature graph in SA after syncing the workout, at least we have a workaround while the issue is fixed.
Does anyone know if a similar workaround exists for S7? It’s lacking temperature in OWS also
-
@wotus and everyone, so I use S+ weather on my S9P to workaround the temperature not being recorded while swimming ,which is supposed to be fixed in the next watch firmware.
However, I’ve been noticing that temperature is captured only for some minutes and then it cuts completely.
see below screenshot from 3 swim workouts, anyone else have seen this behavior? wonder if this will be addressed when the temperature bug is fixed or might it be a different S+ weather issue? thx -
@herlas Mostly the temperature curve with S+ Weather looks like this:
But sometimes in very few cases I had similar effects like you, a flat line for the rest of the exercise. -

Why is level of support low? This is a known bug and will be fixed. How does that make support level low?
-
@wotus Thx, I only switch screens once at the beginning of the workout, not sure it that’s the trigger for this behavior though
-
Yes, the fix will make the temp recording be active permanently as one would expect.

@Brad_Olwin
Here’s one example. Original in Polish:Piotr:
Kinga:
A proszę jeszcze powiedzieć jaki to konkretnie pas ? Suunto Smart Heart Rate ?Kinga:
Panie Piotrze, to jest normalne, proszę sparowac pas z zegarkiem i pływać z pasem i zegarkiemPiotr:
Pani żartuje?!
Normalne?!
Przecież to działa błędnie. -
@Piotr-Grygiel If you use a heart rate sensor while swimming in open water, your heart rate will not be transmitted in real time. It is even written in the instruction manual ( point 4.12).
-
@Stas-Varazhbit
I read the instructions with understanding. The belt does not synchronize data after training.
