Suunto 9 Peak
-
I hope they will be made in Finland!
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos
is that why I see this message when I want to read comments on my posts from @Bulkan ?
-
@freeheeler the old topic is no more.
-
@pavlas its made in FI and assembled by hand by EU citizens with their proper salary etc.
Totally repairable -
@isazi
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
donāt get me wrong, Iām just asking: there seems to be a leak somewhere and Iām quite sure itās not the forum users. wouldnāt it make sense to stop the source of the leak instead of removing a lively discussion about what could be next? I mean despite potentially raising hopes that might not get fulfilled eventually it would create at least a hype about the new watchā¦ similar to new phones.
It should be obvious that nothing is confirmed unless Suunto announces it -
@freeheeler that is correct. Thatās what we are trying but since the pictures are shared here those must be taken down.
-
I posted translated promo images from Chinese web page, thatās last topic got deleted
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos So if we are not allowed to post leaks, etc. Can we discuss information on them?
Thanks
-
@duÅ”an-koviÄ donāt post pictures or links, just discuss.
-
Understood
-
-
@isazi Ok, thanks!
So from what I saw on images it will have : fast charging, new HR monitor with SpO2 (Google translated it as photoelectric and watch has two metal contacts near HR monitor - maybe some kind of wrist ECG? or just battery charger contacts), over the air updates - no more cable for FW updates, adaptive brightness, BT 5.0.
Design looks great in my opinion, more modern and sleek
-
@duÅ”an-koviÄ I remember jawbone fitness tracker (remember those?) had an HR sensor similar to those of HR straps. Maybe this will be in the s9peak? Not as a primary sensor, but as a secondary one to provide more accurate reading by combining both data streams.
-
@duÅ”an-koviÄ According to this article there are more watches with ECG build-in
https://www.wareable.com/health-and-wellbeing/ecg-heart-rate-monitor-watch-guide-6508Wouldnāt that make OHR obsolete? That would be great news!
-
@Š“ŠøŠ¼Š°-Š¼ŠµŠ»ŃŠ½ŠøŃŠµŠ½ŠŗŠ¾ Those bracelet looking trackers? I just saw them, but never explored more.
@surfboomerang Maybe ECG for HR tracking and optical for SpO2? Not sure if you can track SpO2 with ECG.
-
@surfboomerang remember that EGC needs both hands on the watch. Its for a single / focused reading. Like Spo2 works in many. (You have to stand still etc)
-
I had a Jawbone UP3. One of the best sleep tracking devices ever. And the app was the best of them all, pity it bankrupted. The limitation to the HR with the Jawbone was that it was measured only while sleep or rest. It couldnāt measure while running you need optics to do that I guess.
The metallic things on the s9 peak IMO are more like the polarās one. To charge and to better detect when off wrist?! -
@duÅ”an-koviÄ yup, exactly those.
-
ārememberingā the images from the Chinese site that leaked everything, it seems that there are no contact points for charging on the back of the device. Will this then be suitable for wireless charging only? That would be quite unique for sports watches, wouldnāt it?
-
Just wondering if the watch body will be 43mm did the screen stayed the same size as on S9B and they just made bezels thinner or the screen is also smaller?
-
@duÅ”an-koviÄ bezels are there for sure. Screen is different though (from what I see)
