missing activity after successful sync
-
@olymay yes i tried that already twice! also tried to resync manually - but its not showing up on the phone
-
@dynamike Android or iOS? On Android you can try first cleaning the app cache, and then uninstall and reinstall. It works with other watches, may work for the 7 too.
-
@isazi tried that - no success
-
fun fact: the activity shows up in google fit with the suunto symbol (= synced from suunto)
-
@dynamike did you clear data and cache before uninstalling? Would try it again.
Also check it is still on the watch. -
@jamie-bg jep tried that and yes it’s still on the watch
-
@dynamike
And do you see this activity in sports-tracker.com? I don’t know if S7 activities are seen there though -
@mff73 said in missing activity after successful sync:

I had the same problem today.
I had a 35 min run, the watch synced with the Suunto app, but the activity does not appear in the app.
The activity appears on the watch in Suunto app - Diary, it even appears in Google Fit as synced from Suunto, but it’s missing from the Android app or from Sports-tracker.comI tried restarting the watch and the phone, clearing the cache of the Suunto app, and nothing.
I made another activity after this and that one appeared in the Suunto app.
It’s getting very frustrating if I cannot rely on the watch to save my activities.
Is there any way to recover my activity ?
-
@steff is this on Strava ?
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos have you tried tracking a new activity (3min Yoga or so) and syncing it again?
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos No, it did not sync with Strava either. It synced only with Google Fit
I managed to partially recover the activity, by requesting the personal data from Google, an manually importing the .tcx file in Sports-tracker.com and Strava.
It has different recovery time and no EPOC and PTE but ar least I have the track and the HR data. -
@theguyfromthesummit yes, I mentioned in my initial post. I made a test activity which it synced perfectly, but the initial activity still did not synced.
-
@theguyfromthesummit I did not have an unsuccessful sync so far , either with resyncs or so. But I am an end user. I don’t develop on wear os
-
And these activities have been recoerded with Suunto app in the S7, right? Not with any other, like Google Fit app or so? I just want to be 100% sure.
-
@jouko-from-suunto yes, all activities were recorded only with the Sunnto app in the S7
-
@steff SyncMyTracks - sync it back from Google Fit.
Note that you will probably have to pay for the full version - but they do give a free limited version - can’t remember its limits, but might allow you to do this with the free version. -
@jamie-bg I tried SyncMyTracks and also FitnessSyncer for exporting from Google Fit to Suunto/Strava and both generated corrupted results. One only exported the general stats (distance, time, average HR) with no GPS or detailed HR and the other (FitnessSyncer I think) exported less distance and time.
The only way to export the entire activity with complete data was to request to download personal data from Google account.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos quick question, do you know if the power data from stryd will finally sync between ambit and suunto app? So far the info can be visible only on the watch…but it is strip out syncing with suunto app. sad!
