Okay, so I did now too.
Here the new tiles available with the new update.
-
@JANTIKAINEN How do you update manually?
-
@aeroild Here is a quick guide to it,

Hello guys. I am a new suunto 7 user. Could someone explain to me, is it possible to link external sensor (hr chest strap from suunto or polar) to google fit on suunto 7? And if yes does it work properly?
-
@comicinjo This is not possible unless you use a 3rd party app.
-
@Brad_Olwin no native speaker here but I understand he is asking if BT sensors can be used with the Google Fit app.
Answer is yes.
ou can connect sensors to the Fit app on the watch and record your training with it. -
@Urban-Olofsson
Note that this issue has been fixed with the July Update and Google fit now picks up the Suunto App activity tracking data and this includes maps and will show them in Google fit.
Note if using Google Fit to track, then it has always showed map data when I have used it, by why are you using google fit to track - uses more battery and not nearly as well featured as the Suunto app for tracking.
-
@Jamie-BG yes I have noticed this is solved as I see it.

Hey folks,
I’d like to ask (mainly iPhone users) what settings do you use on your S7 and iP. I allowed Suunto app to integrate stats with Google fit and as well Health app on iPhone to send stats to both Suunto App and GFit. I disabled Location services on GFit on S7 though since I was afraid or battery drainage - Suunto app will automatically use GPS during activity right ?
Maybe stupid question but should I even use GoogleFit to check all my stats ? Isn’t Suunto app sufficient ?
Thank you -
@Zab_55 for activities Suunto is enough, Fit is only for heart rate. Hopefully even that will end up in SA at some point.
-
@isazi thank you for your reply ! So I’ll leave it as a data collector only, hopefully they will move it to SA.
-
@Zab_55 I have an iPhone and I am not a fan of Google. I only allow Google to read HR so I can see it during the day. I do not have my exercises going to Google Fit and I do not have Google Fit installed on my iPhone.
-
@Zab_55 depends on what you are doing. Google fit weight tracking is far superior to what suunto offers for s7.
Also suunto app doesn’t include sleep tracking, blood pressure readings, weight tracking. Suunto app is more of a detailed activity tracker but not a health app. For that you will need to use Apple health app or Google fit. -
@Jamie-BG you’re right, Fit should be a more holistic view on health/fitness. I still use it, but I hope Google will invest more on it, because it is not a premium app at all right now.
-
@Brad_Olwin I miss to integrante the iPhone with s7 and suunto app. I don’t want to use google fit.
-
@isazi - Even better would be if we only had to use one app - the Suunto app and they added that level of detail to their app. Should be easy enough to include stuff like that enable people to switch on which page tabs they want via the settings page, allowning people to set up the app how they want it - just an activity analysis app, just a health app, or a full combined suite.
Adding bits like this is what I think enables Suunto to become a player in the market, as their competitors are already providing this, and I can’t see how they expect to compete if they aren’t at least matching their competitors.

My S7 does not sync the 24/7 heart rate to Google Fit any more. Only the heart rate of recorded activities is showing up in Google Fit. The daily heart rate is missing in Fit.
Here some screenshots with the gaps in the graph. The shown data are from the Skagen Falster 3 and the S7 if I recorded an activity.
The sync from S7 wear app to Google Fit is enabled. In Google Fit all permissions are given and heart rate measuring too.
Any ideas?
-
The sync of the heart rate to Google Fit is no longer a problem since I deactivated the all the Suunto system apps on the S7. In Fit there is a continuous graph of the heart rate.
-
The Suunto wear app syncs steps into Google Fit. I use other WearOS watches too. The synced steps of the other watches will be deleted at the moment the S7 syncs to Google Fit. It’s strange.
If I deactivate the complete Suunto system on the S7 Google Fit on the watch is counting the steps and the sync to Google works like expected. The synced steps will be added to the existing steps synced from the other watches.
Is it possible to fix this in the Suunto wear app?
