Suunto 7 - Google fit integration must be improved
-
@Egika and the S7 does not show the heart rate or steps in the Google Fit app on the watch?
-
@Egika said in Suunto 7 - Google fit integration must be improved:
@pilleus I only have one Google account at all. And connected all my phones and PC and watch with this single one…
I think I have the solution. You are using a mail address with googlemail.com.
Change it on your pc in Google to gmail.com and you should have no problems with Google Fit.
-
@pilleus really? Wow, will try that
-
@pilleus took me a little but now everything is on Gmail.
Tried to sync with Syncmytracks again.
The app shows all as normal (and as before).
Still nothing shows up in my Google Fit app nor on the watch…
-
@Egika the mail issue was the only one I remembered. Sorry for no other idea.

This is weird, I assume you have the permissions for Fit on the watch set ok? I have the opposite issue, since I usually run with two or three watches, Google Fit is importing everything and I am a superman…I am on iOS and all is porting to Fit as it should.

@Brad_Olwin ios here too by default.
How do you get any of your Suunto Watch app activities into Google Fit? By default it only syncs heart rate and steps…
Thanks! -

Thanks!I connected GoogleFit in the Suunto Wear OS app under general options.
In GoogleFit on your iPhone under Activity Tracking I allow Google Fit to read from Apple Health
I allow Apple Health to read from SA on the iPhoneThat gets my stuff into Google Fit.
Not sure that is right or really works but give it a try.
-
@Brad_Olwin thank you. I have now connected Health to SA and to Google Fit as well.
Initially I was after getting the proper tracks and full activity data into Fit using Syncmytracks as hinted above. It would also import some data history.
Somehow this does not seem to work for me.
Anyway, I will check, what I get with the new health connections with new activities.Thank you all for support.
And I back the initial topic of this thread: Fit integration of the Suunto wear OS app can be improved. -

How do you use SyncMyTracks?
Add Strava first, sync direction away from Strava.
Add Google Fit second, sync direction to Google Fit.Sync mode every x hours or manually.
That’s it.
Have now bought the full version of Syncmytracks.
Are you using the account sync function or import/export?Thx
-
@Egika account sync
-
@pilleus ok - thanks.
It took some says to get the account from Strava to Fit synced with 1100 activities…
Now I still don’t get tracks in Fit… The sync log shows the most recent activity as synchronized.
But in the fit app there seems just to be one point…

Even in Google Fit on the S7 the activity will be updated after the sync via Strava. Map and graphs of altitude and speed are missing. The complete data will be displayed in Fit on the smartphone.
Hi Pilleus,
Greetz from Regensburg
I have set it up like you suggested, and Strava syncs everything to Google Fit - everything, except the map.
I think I have set up everything the right way, checked and re-checked everything, but the map won’t sync.
Am I missing something? Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Therefore I use SyncMyTracks to have all data in Fit (altitude, heart rate, map, speed, distance, calories).
-
@pilleus Yes, I read about SyncMyTracks. However, to use it I have to enter my passwords (especially Google) in the app, and I’m not gonna do that…
So there’s no way to import the maps to Google Fit by only using Strava, correct? It only works via SyncMyTracks?

@MO92119 said in Suunto 7 - Google fit integration must be improved:
passwords (especially Google)
No. It’s an allowed connection as it is with the Suunto wear or any other app or watch face. The apps are listed in Google Fit and can be removed.
-
@pilleus can you check my screenshot above? No map is synced for me while Syncmytracks in the logs tells me it synced fun from Strava to Fit…

You are right! You must enter username and password for Strava, so I assumed it’s the same for Google.
I will test it then, thank you very much!! -
@Egika strange. I have no problems, no delay to show the map in Fit.
Did you check the sync log for errors?
You can try the export & import function of SyncMyTracks to force the resync of the last activity listed in Strava.
-
@pilleus log looks totally fine for me.
It syncs nicely. Just the Fit app shows no map. The activity gets updated with some position data though, as you can see in the screenshot above…
