Create complex training with Suunto app

@jsuarez TBH it’s a disgrace

Congratulations to Suunto who removes a super important function (for me but certainly for many) …
Well, they don’t think so… (I do think so, just as you do)
Looking at Suunto App, Suunto is building a service for those who care about their steps and Calories, which right in Fitbit territory. Those are primary metrics that everyone see when they start the app.
-
@silentvoyager
I’m glad Suunto still records the real important metrics, too… so Dimitrios can do something useful with it for us -
@Siro84 Did Suunto imply that complex training/structured intervals won’t be coming to the platform either in the app or via third party?
I would like to know this, as if it’s not coming, I will probably try and sell my watch while the value is still high.
I’ve assumed that they would as it seems mental not to have it, especially given the demand by their own users as well as being a feature in the older watches.

Not everyone. Switch to Ambi3 or Travrse and you never have to see those damn steps & cals again in SA [:
@andrewjknox , I don’t believe you can get a list features from Suunto that they promise not to implement, but check this - https://forum.suunto.com/topic/77/structured-intervals/243
Oh wait, they actually stated that Suunto+ is not fit for complex intervals, so I guess thats -0.5 for me. -

@isazi
I can’t find where create complex workouts in the movescount web…Because it’s not there. Workout builder is only accessible through Movescount mobile apps.
Where can you find workout builder in MC mobile app? I can do nothing like this with my app, only sync and watch my moves
-
@andrewjknox Seems like they won’t implement it. Truly mental, indeed.

Might be bit different on iOS.
(and just in case - this thread is about Ambit3) -
@margusl ok I have a spartan, this explains that
-
@JuanPh Movescount app is far more limited for Spartan and S9
-
@silentvoyager you are right, I have just realized that ! Spartans have limited features with Movescount, no Suunto plus, seems to be no more updates. It looks like Spartans never express their full potential or are more limited than they seem.
-
@silentvoyager moreover, the movescount application will disappear from the store the 19th of december
-
@jer79 Well, I’ll keep it on my phone and continue using it for as long as possible.
It is a shame Suunto discontinues it before a number of important outdoor features have been released in Suunto App.
-
@silentvoyager, you can download the movescount apk shared by Sherani above. You’ll have it, in case of phone change
-
@jer79 I have already backed up my apk.
-
@silentvoyager
I think I’ll try to live on my S9B, SA and QS… and as a fallback with my A3PS, SA, the “whatever-they-will-call-MC-in-the-future”, SuuntoLink and a cable like in 1997… -
apks can be found online and if you back em up I am all in sharing links here or instructions
I ll help on this
-
And the solution for those with iOS and are about to change their phone would be… none?!
Why can’t they just disable Movescount account creating from the mobile apps and leave the apps in the stores until they start to change the back-end (aka Movescount site)?
When one wants to create an account from the site it can be notified about the digital transition. -
So, any news on this topic?
I started and intervall group recently and we do “complex” intervals to spice things up a bit. I don’t understand why Suunto can’t support different interval shapes?
-
@ollemelin they can but differently than you may expect. SuuntoPlus will record complex intervals but you need to remember the intervals as you cannot program them
