Using Movescount web and Suunto app simultaneously
-
Is a question based on https://forum.suunto.com/topic/1240/parallel-use-of-movescount-suunto-app/ but this thread is closed, sorry.I can still use both simultaneously?
I mainly used for the last months only SA.
I already accepted the message that tell me that I would be disconnected from MC if I edit Sport Modes from SA.My idea is use MC web ONLY to sync the watch configuration via Suunto Link to my watch. For any other I will continue using the SA.
This question is based on that I would like have a control on the altimeter profile of my Sport Modes and the watch.
Or now I can´t have this control by the new fw of the last days?Thanks.

The original post was related to parallel use of MC APP an SA not MC WEB
If you’ve already agreed to disconnect … well, you can use cable just for update and recharge.
MC App and SA can still be used in parallel

@sartoric Edited, thank you!
This mean that I can use both “apps” but can´t anymore use MC web, right?
In case that I install the MC app, this app also not sync to MC web, only be useful to edit parameters on my watch, notifications, etc, until SA get all these features, right?
MC app latest version is 1.5.11 or exist some beta link?
Thanks again! -

That’s the reason why many people here use it in “parallel mode”.This post is the one with install details : https://forum.suunto.com/topic/668/parallel-use-with-mc-app/5
The one from your post it’s a sort of follow up -
@sartoric Thank you!

@flypg I think the “big problem” problem is having to apps on your phone, both connected via Bluetooth to the watch. If both starting syncing at the same time, your watch can crash. I have both apps on the phone, but only one of them is connected via Bluetooth to the watch. So there is no possibility to double sync at the same time

@mario_b Thanks for the information, I’ll try it on the weekend
-
@mario_b which one is the “active” one?
-
@johann-fuehrer because of i am new to suunto and wanna change settings on the ambit until get my basic setup. (which gps mode, which data fields on which sport-modes) i am connected to MC via BT. so i get the best of both worlds. a solid watch and background system that has worked for so many people so many years. and the ability to use the newest beta of SA.

I have both apps on the phone, but only one of them is connected via Bluetooth to the watch. So there is no possibility to double sync at the same timeTo avoid this possible problem, the addition that I made to the procedures is set this limitations on these apps:
- Disallow background data usage
- Disallow background battery activity
I can do this because I not use Notifications on my watch, not need that the apps run continusly, and with this I can select when I like run the app and what app (MC or SA). In case that need that one of these apps it runs continuously, I can easily change this setting.
Now I can edit from MC web my sport mode settings again
After this I sync with the MC app to my watch.Thanks @sartoric @mario_b again and @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos for this procedures post.

did anyone else notice a very slow MC web, too? It’s frequently showing an Error 504…
-
@TELE-HO I just noticed it about an hour ago. No 504 error but MCweb def slow. Thought it was just my wifi but that was not the case.
-
@malcyway
I’m on glass fiber and from the other programms I use I know that the connection is as normal…
I’ve asked Dimitrios in another thread, waiting for his reply -
Hi this should be ok now
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos
I don’t receive 504 errors anymore… but the speed is like in the middle age… -
I don’t find him slowed down. Of course, it has never been very fast…
-
@Saketo-Nemo
24 seconds from pressing enter until the start page is loaded…
…sorry, “slow” is hard to quantify… -
wow !
Not for me, not so slow. We are talking about few seconds, maybe four… -
@Saketo-Nemo
almost 60 seconds to enter watch settings… same for editing sport modes… -
Today my movescount (web) is also very slow. Solution: down bottom right of the page switch to the chinese server. movescount.cn is fast (you have to click on this this on it, only changing the adress links you back to .com.
