yes, for clear watch bugs there still can be fix releases.

I guess the question is what would Suunto consider a bug? Like @the_77 mentioned we could probably make a pretty long list of things that don’t quite work as expected. But I’m guessing the nit-picky things won’t ever be addressed.

What about some of the big picture things, though, like the clearly broken activity navigation screen (touch doesn’t work, can’t scroll back to previous data screen, old/ineffective zoom function) or the constant phantom notifications? I would qualify these as bugs, but does Suunto?

@Egika this was exactly the bug I referred to in my post.

Anyway my point is that there is a difference between fixing watch breaking busy and niggles, so it would be good to know what to expect…

Bought my S9PP right after christmas 2022, and right now, battery life is low, some bugs like stopped OHR in the middle of the night, connection between chest strap and watch sometimes gets lost, and some other minor things, I think it may be a good plan to buy another one at the end of year.

Still kinda hoping for am updated version of the watch and the form factor, because to be honest Race 2 will look to big on my arms and for wearing it 24/7 I guess it will be too big for me… I could use the S9PP for normal daily life and the Race2 for sports, but where is the point in this. Too much hassle.

After a few weeks of difficult charging, my 9PP has completely stopped charging for the past two days. I’m hesitant to switch to Garmin, mainly because of the overly sporty look of their mid-range watches, and because I don’t really want to, nor do I have the time to, familiarize myself with a new interface, although I would greatly appreciate having more feedback in interval training (number of intervals, # remaining, beep for the target adjusted at each step). I finally ordered a Race S somewhat out of desperation. I know the GPS and heart rate accuracy will be better than on the 9PP, but I would have preferred to wait for a newer version. Who knows, maybe a Race 2S? I know that the 9PP and the Race S share the same charger. If by some miracle I can charge my old Watch, I’ll return the whole thing, simply order a new charger, and see how the models evolve in the coming year.

How unfortunate that with the latest and last firmware, heart rate measurement stopping has become so much more frequent. Before it was extremely rare, at least for me but now it seems like it’s a weekly occurrence.

              9PP since 09-2025.

I did indeed receive my Race S watch, and my old watch charges perfectly with the new cable, so I haven’t tested the new watch yet and I’m returning it now. Buy a new $70 cable is beyond reasonable in my opinion for a watch that’s barely 3 years old, and I absolutely don’t want to send my watch to the company and fight to avoid paying for the repair. So I went around my principles this time and ordered a cable from Amazon which works perfectly. My near vision requires a larger screen, so I haven’t chosen my next watch yet… To be continued…

I have to say I kinda overlooked the Race S a little, but since it’s out there now quite some time, it may be better to still wait for newer models maybe at the end of year.

Battery runtime with my S9PP also an issue, charged it yesterday morning before leaving the day, then 24hrs later without any usage of the watch only 24/7 HR measurement, I lost 25% of battery life. Now, with a 30 minute bike ride, and a 40 minute dog walk, I am at 45%, which really is a bummer.

Just to note that somehow my watch has become afflicted with phantom vibrations over the past week, notably nowhere near BT devices aside from my phone. So I wonder if it’s correlated to the SA connection dropouts Android is experiencing or just symptomatic of a longer 9PP issue.
