My Plan Beta

@pavel.samokha
First of all. Nice! I think that is the feature that a lot of users were trying out in partner platforms.What I think could be improved:
- Seems that mostly targets are based on number of hours one provides while creating a plan. Would be nice if it would look into last x amount of time to determine. I changed hours few times, got quite different results.
- Would be nice to specify a day for additional sport (for example Tennis on mondays, running all the other days)
- When suggesting intervals, there could be some examples (sometimes it is nice to have tailored suggestions for structured workouts) it can stay only as a text, no issue there.
- Training plan lenght could be customised or based on a race day (if it is a race targeted)
-
I just tried with a “Get fast for 10km” and I checked some intervals-based workouts. The plan in SA gives a generic description of what to do, but in these cases I’d need to know more in advance.
The workout description says “Perform 4x800m intervals at target race pace, with recovery in-between intervals”. But- I haven’t set up a target race pace anywhere; the pace zone target tile shows my best 10K effort as max pace
- the Intensity zone tile shows Zone 4, but certainly I am not expected to stay in that zone for the entire workout?
- I can’t see how long the recovery intervals should be, and I think I should know it in advance
This is not for all workouts though, I found one that is more detailed.
-
Is there some information about how to use it?
-
@VoiGAS the video that is linked at the top shows a bit, but it pretty straight forward. You choose type of the plan and answer few questions and you get a plan.
-
Can Suunto Run be used with a training plan?
-
@SODIUM the Youtube video says even older watches are supported, so I imagine Suunto Run should work
-
I had a look at the “Getting fit” plan. My expectation during creation was that it is a startup plan to improve general fitness.
After creation I was surprised that individual workouts were longer than 45 minutes. For example, 1h of rowing erg or a long run of 55 minutes in week one.
As far as I am concerned, one already has to have some fitness under ones belt to even start.
Suggestion for improvement:
Extend the customization to capping workout durations. Or let the user provide a level like beginner, intermediate, advanced.
-
@borgelkranz yea similar. I tried a lot of different options and sometimes got a total mess, for example:
- 2 similar workouts at the same day
- no addidiotal sports where I selected 2 of them (but then I tried to create a same plan with less amount of hours it added additional sports - go figure.

@aiv4r 🥳

I love it! I haven’t tried it out yet but planning to use it. I have a running coach I used to work with and will run it by him when I get a chance. Really happy to see this ! Nice job Suunto!
-
@Francesco-Pagano Suunto Run is not working with these AI plans at this moment, as those are implemented via Suunto Guides, but it’s mentioned plans will come to Suunto Run, not sure how or when
-
@herlas interesting, thanks! I just assumed that the launch of Run together with these plans now go in the same direction, trying to attract more amateur runners. Let’s see how it will be done
-
@herlas Just out of curiosity, I signed up for a plan and now it’s generating it (*). I don’t get what you mean when you say it’s not supported yet for the Run
(*) successfully generated for the expected period
-
@Hari-Seldon the plan generation is independant of the watch it is an app function, so of course it will work. The delivery to watch happens over S+ Guides, so one will not get instructions during the run on what should be done. But if that is not needed everything should work.
-
@aiv4r got it, thanks!
Update: it seems it’s not possible (yet?) to delete old plans (e.g. cancelled ones) and sometimes when browsing them the app (Android) crashes
-
For me, the biggest benefit is that the watch now gives an audible alert if I am outside the set zone. This was not possible before My Plan was launched. I have a Suunto Race.
-
@smutnak it’s independent change, should work for any S+ guide interval now
-
@pavel.samokha Ah, thanks for the clarification. I thought it was part of My Plan. Good job, I’ve been waiting for this for a long time
-
I tried a workout from a plan today, not sure what happened. The workout is stuck on “Uploading activities“ for an hour now. On the watch there is a TSS measurement, the app didn’t register anything. Any idea what to do? Or is there an issue on the server side? There is more data missing, i.e intensity zones is also not updated.
