How is the 9PP positioned with the new arrival of the RaceS?
-
@Egika Thats very strange! 200ms would be great, maybe my unit is somehow slower. What are your display settings? Time starts from lifting the arm, not from entering the Field of View, right?
-
@VoiGAS time starts from watch reaching horizontal position (before this, the watch cannot know I want to read it) until screen is showing data.
Setting: AOD: off, raise to wake: full on -
After testing the Race S extensively, I’m sticking with my 9 Peak Pro. With a Race S upgrade.

@pilleus Interested in understanding why…I still have the 9PP
-
@pilleus So, what are your thoughts on SRS and why you didn’t keep it?
-
- I don’t need maps
- For cycling, kayaking, kick biking I don’t wear a watch at the wrist, because it’s hard to check the data on the display
- Mounted on the handle bar of the bike/kick bike there is a button press needed to have full illuminated display on the Race S. No fun during riding. In the kayak there is no way to do that.
- HR sensor is no upgrade for me, because 9PP is working great for me.
- Sleep tracking with REM and light sleep is the job of my Google nest.
- HRV is working fine with my 9PP.
- The rotating crown took some getting used to, especially if you are used to 9pp and vertical. I often pressed the bottom button instead of turning the crown.
- Buttons can be operated at any time with gloves, but the rotating crown is rather difficult.
I liked the display of the Race S indoor, brilliant and outstanding. For walking, running I would take the Race S, but my preferred activities are biking, kayaking and kick bike.
Just a few reasons to stay with the 9PP.
The price (314 EUR) was okay for the Race S and I can recommend it for runners (track, trail) and walkers.

@pilleus migration was way too loud on S9PP, I guess it’s not a big deal

Price of the 9PP is again down to 299€ on the austrian/german webshop. Strange price hopping, maybe they increased it before to have the posiibility to discount for Black Friday. Wouldn’t be an uncommon practice
