I’m pretty new to the 9, just having transitioned from the Ambit3 Run. It’s quite a leap. Is there any way to have the screen off completely while wearing the watch? I see that the 7 has this, but it also seem to have different software. I’m not sure how anyone is supposed to use the watch for sleeping when it’s always on. I know it will dim to 5%, but that’s still pretty bright in a pitch black room.

Support suggested that manually putting the watch in “Do Not Distrub” would achieve this, but even in this mode, the slightest movement illuminates the display.

You can just change the backlight settings. Isn’t it enough ?

It sounds like you have your “Standby Backlight” selected on. If you turn it off your screen will be dark at night. If you need to see the time just press the center button and it will illuminate for around 10 seconds.

          From Settings>General>Backlight>Standby

@deserthike20 This was it. I had it set to “on”. This was my only quibble with the watch. I think the combo of this set to off and using do not disturb in certain situation will give me all I need to be discreet.
