Apple Watch does not show distance units in KM.

Hi all.
I have a long standing issue where an update last year prevented my Apple Watch from showing my units in KM.
I have had a ticket open for the best part of a year now with one of the most recent updates stating that showing the distance in KM is a premium feature. Surely that isn’t right?
Anyway I am a premium user. And now I’ve been getting holding messages for the best part of a week with no update. Does anyone in here have the Apple Watch Sports tracker app and has the units in KM?Im pretty tech savvy so I’m almost certain it’s not me doing anything wrong. I’ve configured both the sports tracker app. The health app and pretty much anywhere else to use KM and not miles. It only appears to be an issue with the sports tracker app. If someone could let me know how to fix I’d be incredibly grateful.

On the watch:
I just installed this app on my iPhone and on the Apple Watch. I am a premium user too. When I start a workout on the watch: the fields with distance ‘km’ stay at 0.00 km on the watch during all the activity. The fields with the heartbeat all stay at 0. The fields with average speed ‘km/h’ are correct and show my actual speed. Strange.
On the phone:
When I synchronise the workout with the phone I can see all the data correctly speed, bpm, and distance are all correct. So the problem is only on the watch.
