[Bug] Vertical (gen 1) 2.48.16: black flash when waking via buttons
After updating my Suunto Vertical (gen 1) to 2.48.16 (“November Rain”), waking the watch with any button causes a brief full-black flash.
Repro: idle watchface → press any button → short full-black → target screen.
Expected: smooth wake with no black flash.
Notes: happens on multiple watchfaces; persists after reboot; didn’t occur before 2.48.16. -

@segi_pn I do not notice this behavior… but I notice the problem with HR belt connection
and after one day of usage I think battery drain is still too much

@Miguel-Angel-Moreno with the Race I? I have no battery problems with the Race I - charged 6 days ago and am at 35% with AOD, yet only 1-2h of GPS workout due to recovery from recent surgery
Update: just checked lost 2% during normal night (8 hours) with DND on, HR, HRV and sleep tracking on

Battery drain still occurring after update. What did they actually do with this update other than say battery drain is fixed??? Fail

@Stefan-Kersting so i can confirm for my Race 2:

Manual measurement of Blood oxygen works
Morning report showed on second night (i missed first night), looks good.
Battery consumption in last 24h was 6% (comparable to firmware i got with watch). But i had DND for around 8h yesterday. Not sure how that impact battery comsuption.So battery consumption was higher only in first few hours after update. But i will take notes for few more days just to be sure. But for my Race 2 it looks fixed.

@Tomas5 yes my battery consumption is also in line with firmware that have no battery drain, only issue I got so far was a quick hr belt disconnect during a run, we’ll see today if unpair repair have solved the issue

@segi_pn Tried to reproduce, but I don’t see the full black screen.
I have the outdoor watchface wait until the watch is idle for a minute. After that I press a button, but all that happens is that the backlight comes on and I see the next screen. -
@surfboomerang It doesn’t happen with all watchfaces. Try the K14 marine compass, Summit Seeker or Concentric analog…
SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto! -

New improved morning report is missing Fell asleep and Wake up time? Why?

After the update, when I set the watch to do not disturb and lock the buttons, the display lights up every time I move my hand🫣 The previous firmware worked correctly. It put the watch to sleep and the display only lit up when I pressed the button on the watch. Now I didn’t even sleep properly, the watch lit up like a Christmas tree🤨

my race 2 works good. battery 10% lost in 1 Day incl 1h run gps… and sleep tracking. ist ok ?
